“Cutting Energy Use in Casinos” Podcast Gets All The Listening Love in 2013
In 2013, for our Energy Efficiency Markets Podcast, we interviewed energy efficiency experts about investment trends in energy efficiency, technology advances, how to sell energy efficiency to utility executives, energy efficiency projects, how to cut energy use in specific types of buildings–and much more. Which of these podcasts yielded the most downloads?
First of all, we need to explain that since we created our new website, www.EnergyEfficiencyMarkets.com, our podcast downloads have increased dramatically. So if you were interviewed before the release of our new website, and your podcast wasn’t one of the top downloaded, it may simply be because it didn’t get as much exposure. Since the creation of EnergyEfficiencyMarkets.com, our subscribers and downloads have jumped dramatically.
So, here’s the winner: “Cutting Energy Use in Casinos 12 Percent to 18 Percent,” an interview with BuildingIQ about its automated energy management software. The automated system responds to pricing, weather conditions, market conditions, and comfort levels. The software yields immediate cash flow. Users are seeing $1.50 to $3 in savings for every $1 they spend on the software, the company told us.

Not far behind this podcast was “Energy Efficiency Tops CleanTech Investment Charts in Third Quarter,” which you can listen to here: Second Most Popular Energy Efficiency Podcast of 2013
It makes sense that these are popular podcasts. A program that yields up to $3 in energy savings for every $1 spent on software is sure to attract some attention. And energy efficiency topping cleantech investment charts is great news for the industry. It was exciting doing this interview and bringing the news to our listeners.
