Industry nonprofit advocate the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is making its Learning Center accessible to registered propane users nationwide.

This PERC Learning Center agreement includes free access to the NFPA LiNK, which is the National Fire Protection Association’s digital platform for code and standard information. PERC came into being with passage of the Propane Education and Research Act of 1996.

The new, single sign-on capability will allow propane professionals to navigate from the PERC Learning Center dashboard to links on critical NFPA safety standards.

"Safety is the cornerstone of everything we do at PERC, and providing our workforce with the best possible tools is a top priority," Eric Kuster, PERC’s senior vice president of safety, education, and compliance, said in a statement. "By integrating NFPA LiNK directly into our Learning Center, we are removing barriers to essential information. This ensures that propane technicians and marketers have access to the most up-to-date safety codes, fostering a more informed and safer industry."

The collaboration aims to streamline the workflow for field technicians and safety directors who rely on NFPA codes to ensure compliant installations and operations.

Propane is an energy-dense, low boiling-point gas popular for recreational, commercial and industrial sector purposes. PERC has worked with energy project developers on propane-generated combined heat and power for use cases such as Bryce Canyon National Park’s Ruby Inn, a San Diego community microgrid, Fisher Vineyards in northern California, warehouse forklifts and more.
