With more than 4,100 participants, Microgrid 2020 Global kicks off its second day with a focus on the future: the evolution of microgrids over the next decade.

Today begins with Microgrid Knowledge’s editorial team engaged in a roundtable discussion that takes a deep dive into one of the most transformative movements in energy: electrification. Watch as Matt Roberts, director of strategic growth & government affairs at Microgrid Knowledge, interviews Steven  DeMott, senior manager of strategic planning at Exelon Company PECO, about the drivers and challenges for utilities as they gear up for the new era.

And that’s just the beginning…

  • Think a microgrid for your home is far off in the future? Think again. Attend our two “Bringing it Home” sessions about the innovations already leading to microgrids for households and neighborhoods. Bring your questions!
  • What does the future hold for the macro grid? Will it become a grid of microgrids? Join a lively panel discussion “The Future of Grids, Micro and Macro?” where both sides line up their arguments.
  • Have questions about what it takes to install and operate a microgrid? Ask questions of your peers at our live “Ask Me Anything” session with representatives from healthcare, education and business on hand to provide information about their microgrid journey.

Also explore the conference’s  extensive exhibit hall and take time to network. (Those who network the most are eligible for Amazon gift cards!)

That’s just a sampling of the content-rich and interactive day ahead. Here is an agenda-in-brief. The full agenda is here.

Yesterday, the first day of Microgrid 2020 Global, featured the announcement of the 2020 Microgrid Greater Good Award. Global Himalayan Expedition was this year’s recipient of the Highest Recognition for a Microgrid Serving the Greater Good.

Held Nov 17-19, the virtual event  brings 75 world-class speakers together for more than 20 different interactive sessions, site tours, and the largest digital networking platform in the industry.
