Time to Power Those Hot Topics: Microgrid Knowledge Call for Speakers is Open

The 2027 Microgrid Knowledge Conference will explore rapid advancements in microgrid technology, focusing on overcoming infrastructure, permitting, and deployment challenges to meet growing energy demands and resilience needs.

It's almost inevitable that the last four years of the 2020s will deliver more evolution within the energy sector perhaps than any other time in quite a few decades.

Co-located energy driven by both regulatory push and industrial demand will drive an era toward microgrids, off-grid and behind-the-meter like rarely seen since the saw of the utility grid. Speed to power will win the race to bridge GW-scale capacity with affordability solutions. Supply meets demand in the best way possible.

We'll be there as it happens. For that reason, the content at next year’s Microgrid Knowledge Conference will focus on “Powering the Large Load: Solving Time to Power, Permitting and Infrastructure Challenges.” These are themes to keep in mind as the call for speakers and content submissions begins for the event happening May 5-7, 2027 at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel and Convention Center in Glendale, Arizona.

“As power demand accelerates and resilience emerges as a strategic imperative, microgrids plan an increasingly important role in supporting energy reliability, economic growth and sustainability goals,” reads the MGK Conference 2027 Call for Speakers page.

Data center and artificial intelligence demand increases are the tip of the proverbial spear in this advancing on-site energy front. MGK Conference 2027 will be co-located with the Data Center Frontier Trends Summit for the first time, bringing the two sectors side by side.

The MGK advisory committee includes industry leaders from microgrid players such as PowerSecure, Schneider Electric, ERock, Siemens SI, S&C Electric, Cummins, WSP, Mission Critical Group and utilities such as Arizona Public Service and Duke Energy.

The selection committee will be searching for content which centers around end-user customer perspectives from microgrid use cases, operations & maintenance best practices, utility and developer collaborations and emerging business models and technical innovations along multiple power generation resource fronts.

Submissions which feature end users as participants will be given strong consideration.

Microgrid Knowledge and EnergyTech are focused on the mission critical and large-scale energy users and their sustainability and resiliency goals. These include the commercial and industrial sectors, as well as the military, universities, data centers and microgrids. The C&I sectors together account for close to 30 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S.

Many large-scale energy users such as Fortune 500 companies, and mission-critical users such as military bases, universities, healthcare facilities, public safety and data centers, shifting their energy priorities to reach net-zero carbon goals within the coming decades. These include plans for renewable energy power purchase agreements, but also on-site resiliency projects such as microgrids, combined heat and power, rooftop solar, energy storage, digitalization and building efficiency upgrades.
