Mesa Power Solutions Expands U.S. Manufacturing with New Evansville Facility

The new Evansville facility will unify Mesa's product portfolio, including generators and microgrid systems, and create 300 jobs, contributing an estimated $200 million to the local economy while enhancing domestic power production.

Natural gas engine and distributed generation firm Mesa Power Solutions has completed work on building a new manufacturing and administrative campus in Evansville, Wyoming.

Strengthening the U.S. domestic power supply chain is at the center of Mesa’s $70 million investment at the Evansville facility. The grand opening ceremony is Saturday.

Mesa’s complete product portfolio will be connected in various ways at the Evansville campus. This includes generators, distribution gear, engines as well as the PowerCore and PowerYard modular microgrid generator systems.

The 220,000-square-foot Evansville site will bring together 300 existing employees and natural gas power generation equipment manufacturing. The company estimates that the project will have a $200 million impact on the local community.

Mesa Power Solution’s complete portfolio capacity, combining the work at Evansville and San Antonio, will reach up to 2 GW annually.

“Our investment in Wyoming is a direct result of the state’s commitment to increase energy production, industrial development and U.S. manufacturing,” said Scott Gromer, CEO of Mesa Solutions. “Our team will produce on-demand power generation equipment to help energy, technology and utility companies meet the needs of their customers in an age where downtime is not an option. The facility better positions us for continued growth and it will provide a significant economic boost to the state.”

Mesa Power Solutions designs, builds, sales, leases and services natural gas and liquid propone-powered mobile and stationary generator sets as well as gas-fired engines. Among the company’s biggest customers are oil and gas producers, data centers and other commercial facilities seeking microgrid resiliency, standby power and grid services such as demand response.

A partnership of BP Capital, the Energy Hedge Fund and the late oil legend T. Boone Pickens Jr. created Mesa Natural Gas Solutions in 2014. The energy startup originally prospered with the expansion of drilling activity in U.S. oil and gas basins.

By 2020 and beyond, Mesa grew its portfolio beyond oil and gas into commercial and industrial on-site power and microgrid solutions. The company has been a sponsor, content participant and attendee at the Microgrid Knowledge website and MGK Conference since at least 2020.

Next year’s Microgrid Knowledge Conference will be May 5-7, 2027, at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Conference Center. The MGK Conference Call for Speakers and Content Sessions recently opened for submissions through early October.
